New Piano Praise The Lord

God works again in mysterious ways at the Clearfield Community Church!

Beginning in 2010, the piano in the sanctuary began to seriously deteriorate. It became impossible to hold a tuning, and some of the keys began to malfunction. Competent tuners and advise was sought. The Wurlizer Company was attempted to be contacted (the piano was less than 12 years old) and it was discovered the company was no longer in business and all warranties and any contracts were voided. Even with constant attention, the piano became a greater and greater expense with less and less reliability. If speaking of a car you might say, “it was a lemon!” The Worship Ministry constantly tried to find a fix and it was becoming obvious that good money was going to useless causes. Throughout 2011 constant care and attention was attempted but the results were futile. The Church Council was kept informed and various suggestions made. People began to pray for the Lord’s plan. It appeared the piano would ultimately need to be replaced. The Christmas season was especially embarrassing. At the beginning of 2012, piano replacement began to be researched. An anonymous donor has “paid in full” for a replacement instrument. Delivery is expected January 26th.

Praise the Lord. I trust you will bow your head and heart with humble thanksgiving for the anonymous donor and for God’s unexpected intervention.

Wow, what a great bunch of people

Last night we had the first of this year’s council meetings. It was wonderful. I am so grateful that I get to work with and fellowship with people whose hearts are on fire for the Lord. If last night is any indication we can expect to have an exciting time this year working to bring people to the Lord.

One Person at a Time

I found a wonderful quote from Mother Teresa. “I never look at the masses as my responsibility; I look at the individual. I can only love one person at a time – just one, one, one. So you begin. I began – I picked up one person. Maybe if I didn’t pick up that one person, I wouldn’t have picked up forty-two thousand….The same thing goes for you, the same thing in your family, the same thing in your church, your community. Just begin – one, one, one.”

I believe in my heart that we need to do that same thing in our church, in our community, in our lives. Let’s all pick one person to pick up and love, then let’s see what happens. I am sure God will bless us all.

The Coming Year

Greetings everyone. As your Moderator for the coming year I want to tell you that I am very excited of some of the things coming this year. I want to remind everyone that the council meeting with be held at my house on Jan 10th (the second tuesday as normal). It will be at 6:30pm and there will be dinner served before the meeting. So please come and lets plan for a wonderful year of bring the lost to Christ.
